A six-year-old girl has been captured running into the arms of a SWAT team officer after her father held her hostage for hours in their home, before killing himself with a single shot.
The amazing rescue occurred after Shalwan Leshore, 29, broke into his girlfriend’s home in Del City, Oklahoma overnight, taking her and their two young children hostage.
The frightened woman managed to call 911 around 7 a.m. before escaping with her two-year-old daughter, but her eldest daughter remained inside with the man.

Escape: A helicopter catches the moment a six-year-old girl flees her home after her father held her, her mother and younger sister hostage. A SWAT team had swooped on the house
Nearly there: The little girl ran towards the open arms of a gun-wielding SWAT team officer
A SWAT team swooped on the home at 7.30 a.m. and heard a gun shot. They smashed a window to throw a communication device inside to talk with Leshore but only heard the child.
In an amazing video filmed by local station KOCO.com, three hours later, the girl was seen at the door of the house and ran outside to the open arms of a gun-wielding officer.
The team then stormed the home and found Leshore dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, NewsOK reported.
It is believed the couple, who had been together for 10 years, had recently separated and Leshore had been unable to accept it.
Rescue: The girl was inside the house with her father for three hours but he may have already been dead
Safe: The young girl was then handed over to her mother. She did not sustain any injuries
His mother, Wanda Frazier, said: ‘I guess she’s getting tired of him and she put him and and he can’t accept that. I guess he love her and love do strange things to people.’
She continued: ‘I tried to talk to him and tell him to move on. I think he fell in love. He had two kids by her and his deal was he wanted to be with his kids.’
Moments before she learned of her son’s death, she said: ‘He’s not going to hurt his kids.’
‘All I know is that was my baby. That was my baby,’ Leshore’s aunt Roberta Cooper added. ‘He’s always been a good kid. Always.’
Swarm: After the three hostages escaped, a SWAT team went into the home and found the man dead
The stand off situation ended just before 10:30 a.m. at the home in the 1900 block of Karen Drive.
But officers believe Leshore may have been dead by the time most of the team arrived as the first officer had heard the single gunshot.
‘We believe now that was the shot taking his life but we couldn’t anticipate that until we actually made entry into the residence,’ Del City Police Capt. Jody Suit said.
The young girl was taken into the care of her mother, and all victims escaped without injury.

Authorities added that she may have been asleep throughout some of the fracas.
