Artia Patrice Davis, 30, was found by police in her Florida home in bed with a student, 16. The alleged relationship began in November 2011
A teacher’s aide has been jailed after a 16-year-old disabled student was found in her bed.
Artia Patrice Davis was allegedly caught red handed with her teenage lover by police investigating reports of an illicit affair.
Police had been tipped off about the relationship between the 30-year-old and the teen and went to her home in Clearwater, Florida.
When they entered the flat they found the teen in Davis’s bed wearing only his boxer shorts. Davis was fully clothed.
Davis 30, was arrested on charge of unlawful sexual activity.
Police said Davis and the teen gave false names and ages.
‘Initially both the victim and the suspect lied about their names, their ages and the nature of their relationship,’ said Clearwater Police spokesperson Elizabeth Watts.
‘But we were able to sort through all of that and confirm that there had been a sexual relationship going on for at least seven months.’
Investigators said the alleged relationship between Davis and the teen began in November 2011.
Davis worked as a teacher’s aide at Hamilton Disston School which caters to students with emotional or behavioral issues.

She resigned in March, after district officials told her she was likely to be fired for spending time with students after hours and lending one a car and a cell phone.
School officials said there was no hint of sexual activity.
But on Monday, after a tip off from another student, police went to her apartment and caught the couple together.
‘When we went out with investigators we found the suspect and we also found the victim there, taking a nap in her bed,’ said police spokesman Watts.
Watts said the victim, who lives with his grandmother, was supposed to be staying at a friend’s house while she was on vacation.
Davis faces a charge of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
She was released early Tuesday morning from the Pinellas County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Davis passed a background check and began working for the school district in January 2008 as a teacher’s aide at Calvin Hunsinger School in Clearwater.
In February 2010, she transferred to Hamilton Disston in Gulfport, where she assisted with behavior management and offered academic support to high school students at the K-12 school.
