Video: Ugandan police captured on film sexually assaulting a female opposition leader

Ugandan police were captured on film sexually assaulting a female opposition leader of the Forum for Democratic Change as they tried to arrest her on Friday. The footage, which was broadcast on state media, became a hot topic on social media as many were outraged at what they saw. It showed Ingrid Turinawe, leader of the opposition’s women’s league, groped by a male police officer as a group of them were trying to pull her out of her car. She was reportedly on her way to an unauthorised rally by the “For God and My Country” (4GC) movement when police blocked her vehicle.
